Colorful Civil War Era Hand-Painted Red, White and Blue Patriotic Spinning “Star” Parade Torch, Very Fine.

This mid 19th century 55” tall fancy design Parade Torch features a metal Patriotic Red, White and Blue painted “Star” shaped reservoir affixed to the end of a wooden staff. The reservoir looks somewhat like a “bulls eye canteen” but with five Star-like spike appendages around the circumference and has a single tall burner with wick at top. The sides of the reservoir were painted red, white and blue with most of the original paint still present. The reservoir rotates within a metal hanger style contraption attached to the end of the pole. Overall, in excellent yet definitely used condition. One of the nicer handpainted, very special American patriotic designs we have offered.
