EP-34a, HB-30, S-15, Reed AS03MD. Three Cents. AYER’S SARSAPARILLA. Medium “AYER'S”. Choice Extremely Fine. Rarity-1 (100 or more known) according to Fred Reed. A lovely quality extremely clean and pleasing example of this more common variety of Encased Postage Stamp Emergency Civil War Era Currency. The red George Washington 1861 series U.S. postage stamp is rich in color and near perfectly centered, viewed under exceptionally clear unbroken mica. Its reverse case legends are sharp and defect-free having nicely toned natural medium chestnut-brown color. An example with lots of choice eye appeal to appreciate, and worthy of a premium bid. |
