1860 Campaign Cover "The Fence that Uncle Abe built"
1860 Abraham Lincoln Portrait Presidential Campaign Political Postal Cover, Unused, Choice Near Mint.
This original 1860 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Campaign Cover is printed in black upon white wove paper, produced by "Magee, 316 Chestnut St., Phila." James Magee was a Philadelphia printer who published many of the printed patriotic envelope, letterhead and illustrations during the Civil War era. The legend on this example reads: "The Fence that Uncle Abe built." Thus having a "Railsplitter" theme and showing an early image of a beardless Abe in a wonderful design.
