Official Congressional Commutation Pay Petition
March 1838, Printed Official Congressional Report, regarding Larkin Smith's service during the Revolutionary War, Choice Extremely Fine.
This is the original, printed House of Representatives Report #672, dated March 13, 1838, occupying the front and back on one page. This report, from the Committee on Revolutionary [War] Claims, concerns Larkin Smith's service during the war and the application of his heirs for his commutation pay. Larkin Smith had served in the Continental Army from 1775 to 1782 and was from Virginia. A very rare officially printed report, regarding the postmortem status of this Revolutionary War soldier's funds due from the United States. This report is in excellent condition, still bright, and is the first we have offered.
