"INDAIN [sic] FIGHT" between the Cherokees and Osages
February 22, 1822, MAINE GAZETTE, Published by Joseph G. Torrey, Bath, ME, Very Fine.
Vol. II, No. 64, 18.5" x 12", 4 pages. Lightly toned, with foxing throughout. Page 3 has an account of an "INDAIN [sic] FIGHT" between the Cherokees and Osages, "in which the latter were defeated with great loss," and "N. Pryor" formerly with Lewis & Clark, and other whites were killed in the fight. Page 1 with coverage of the congressional debate over "apportionment." Very interesting content.
