Large Folding Map by the editor of the American Rail Road Journal, 1853, of the "Railroads in the United States in Operation and Progress to Accompany a Report from the Treasury Department." This Map is printed in four sections, then joined together to create a huge Map measuring about 39.5" x 42". This Map was produced for inclusion in a report by Israel De Wolf Andrews to the Secretary of the Treasury, which ultimately contained four maps bound into a single volume. Includes full details of all American Railroads in existence at the time, with Inset Views of Texas & Florida to complete the picture. Some light tone along some of the folds, some minor holes at fold intersections with some reinforcements on the blank back to close some tears, and generally in nice condition. A very large and highly attractive Railroad specialized map, ready for framing and display. |
