Lot of Three (3), Admission Tickets to the United States Senate for the Impeachment Trial of President Andrew Johnson, with (1) Rare Ticket from the Day of Aquittal, Very Fine.

Three different Admittance Tickets to the Gallery of the U.S. Senate for the "Impeachment of the President": 1) Orange Ticket dated March 23, 1868 and measures 3" x 3.5" without stub; 2) Cream Ticket is mostly covered by dark toning, dated April 14, 1868 and measures 3" x 5" with its Full Original Stub Still Attached; and 3) White Ticket with light to moderate tone, dated May 26, 1868, measures 3" x 3.5" without stub. All three tickets bear the facsimile signature of George T. Brown, Sergeant-at-Arms of the U.S. Senate. All were printed by Philp & Solomons, Washington. A wonderful set of Three historic tickets, including one very rare and special Ticket from the actual day of President Andrew Johnson's acquittal !!! (3 items).



Additional Information:

On February 24, 1865, the House voted to impeach Johnson by a vote of 126 to 47. On May 26, 1868, the Senate acquitted the President by a vote of 35 to 19, only one vote short of the two-thirds required for conviction.
